Insurance Claim Assistance for Property Loss
Free guidance through the homeowner insurance claim process. Xactimate scope writing, supplemental claim handling, and direct coordination with your adjuster from first notice through final payment.
Overview
What Insurance Claim Assistance Covers
Most homeowners file one property loss claim in their lifetime, and the process is nothing like filing an auto claim. Carriers use proprietary scope-writing software (Xactimate), apply line-item pricing that shifts every quarter, enforce policy language most homeowners have never read, and rely on adjusters whose job is to settle the claim quickly rather than thoroughly. A claim that should pay 60,000 dollars often settles at 30,000 the first time around, with the rest left in the supplemental process that most homeowners never pursue.
We handle the claim alongside the rebuild as a single coordinated service. Our project managers write every estimate in Xactimate using current regional pricing, attend the adjuster walk so nothing is missed, document hidden damage the moment demo exposes it, and file supplementals immediately rather than at the end of the project. The result is a claim that pays what the loss actually costs to repair, not what the first-pass adjuster estimate said it would cost.
Common Causes
When This Service Applies
First-notice-of-loss support
Walking you through the claim filing call with your carrier so the loss is described accurately and the right coverages are opened.
Adjuster walk coordination
Meeting your adjuster on site, walking the loss together, and ensuring every line item is captured in the initial estimate.
Hidden damage supplementals
Filing supplemental claims the same day demo exposes additional damage — most are approved without dispute.
Scope and pricing disputes
Negotiating line-item disagreements with the adjuster or carrier desk reviewer using current Xactimate regional pricing data.
Code upgrade claims
Documenting and submitting Ordinance and Law coverage claims for code-required upgrades exposed during rebuild.
Additional Living Expenses
Helping you track ALE receipts and file for hotel, meals, and alternate housing while the home is uninhabitable.
Scope of Work
What's Included in the Rebuild
- 01
Free claim review
We review your policy declarations page, current adjuster estimate, and loss documentation at no cost — before you agree to any scope or contractor.
- 02
Xactimate scope writing
Every line of rebuild work documented in carrier-standard format with current regional pricing, photos, and measurements.
- 03
Direct adjuster communication
Your project manager handles all carrier and adjuster communication from first notice through final invoice — copying you on every email.
- 04
Supplemental filing
Hidden damage exposed during demo is documented, photographed, and submitted as a supplemental claim the same day.
- 05
Depreciation recovery
Coordinating the certificate of completion and depreciation-recovery paperwork so you receive the full replacement-cost payout, not just the actual-cash-value initial check.
- 06
Public adjuster coordination
Working alongside a public adjuster if you have hired one, or referring a qualified PA when the claim warrants independent representation.
- 07
Final payment verification
Reviewing the carrier's final settlement statement against the actual rebuild scope to ensure no covered items were missed or improperly depreciated.
Warning Signs
When to Call a Reconstruction Contractor
If you're seeing any of these signs, it's time for a professional inspection — most are free, and early intervention dramatically reduces total rebuild scope and cost.
- Initial adjuster estimate feels low compared to actual repair quotes
- Adjuster denied coverage for items you believe are covered
- Hidden damage was discovered after the initial estimate was written
- Carrier is delaying response on a supplemental claim
- You received an actual-cash-value check but do not understand how to recover depreciation
- Your policy includes Ordinance and Law coverage that has not been applied
Insurance & Coverage
How Insurance Claim Assistance Claims Work
Claim assistance is bundled into every rebuild contract at no additional cost — we are paid by the insurance carrier through the rebuild scope, not by you separately. We are not a public adjuster, do not take a percentage of your claim, and do not charge for claim consultation when you are considering hiring us for the rebuild. Public adjusters are a separate licensed profession; we refer one when independent representation is warranted.

FAQ
Insurance Claim Assistance Questions, Answered
Is claim assistance really free?+
Yes when paired with the rebuild. Our project managers handle the claim alongside the rebuild scope, and our compensation comes from the standard rebuild line items billed to the carrier. There is no separate fee, percentage, or markup for claim assistance.
Can you help if my claim was already denied?+
Often, yes. Denied claims frequently come down to documentation gaps or policy-language interpretation. We review the denial letter, your policy, and the loss documentation, and advise on whether a re-inspection, supplemental, or public adjuster engagement makes sense.
What is the difference between you and a public adjuster?+
A public adjuster represents you against the carrier and is paid a percentage of the claim settlement. We are the rebuild contractor and write the scope in carrier-standard format. Both can work alongside each other on complex claims, and we refer a public adjuster when one is warranted.
Will using your claim help affect my insurance premium?+
Filing a claim affects your premium based on the loss type and carrier, not based on who writes the scope. Carriers underwrite the loss event, not the contractor. Properly documented scopes typically settle faster and cleaner, which is what carriers prefer.
What if my adjuster and your scope disagree?+
That is the normal claim cycle. We submit our scope, the adjuster reviews, and any disagreements are negotiated line by line using Xactimate pricing data and policy language. The vast majority of scope disputes resolve in writing without escalation.
